WIND Hellas Wins with OSS Transformation Solution from MYCOM
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 25 March 2014 -- MYCOM, the leading independent provider of carrier-grade Service and Network Performance solutions, today announced triple-play Communications Service Provider WIND Hellas as a reference customer for its OSS transformation solution: the NIMS-PrOptima™ converged Fixed/IP/Mobile network performance management platform.
Traditionally Communications Service Providers have added new OSS systems within each network domain and for each new technology roll-out as a practical solution for launching projects quickly. However, over time the many hundreds – or even thousands – of systems that result cause complexity and inefficiency across organization silos with non-integrated processes and data, all resulting in higher operational costs and reduced agility and time to market.
In addition, introduction of new services and technology or changes to business processes are significantly hampered by the inability to rapidly and cost-effectively adapt the systems to support the required changes. Each new change is time-consuming, difficult and expensive to implement.
When WIND Hellas, the third largest operator in Greece, embarked on an OSS Transformation project for its network performance management systems in 2010 across its Fixed and Mobile networks it chose MYCOM’s NIMS-PrOptima™ as the platform. Initially WIND Hellas considered NIMS-PrOptima™ as its network performance management system across its Mobile networks covering all RAN technologies, Core network, IP network and its Value Added Services platform, but soon chose to extend the solution to include the Fixed network after appreciating the significant benefits and cost-effectiveness of the converged Fixed/IP/Mobile capabilities of NIMS-PrOptima™.
The benefits NIMS-PrOptima™ provides in OSS transformation projects include:
• CAPEX/OPEX savings through a single converged data warehouse with consistent, harmonized data, consistent KPIs/reports and analysis, and integration to other OSS systems
• Reduced complexity whilst deploying best practices and standards
• Increased network quality from faster root cause analysis and pro-active service assurance
• Automation of processes across departmental silos
• Faster and more cost-efficient changes to network infrastructure
• Better customer experience and customer service by directly connecting end-to-end services to network infrastructure and providing network intelligence to customer-facing systems
“With our converged OSS system for network performance management provided by MYCOM’s NIMS-PrOptima™ we are able to rapidly and cost-effectively manage the network quality across all our networks and domains within a single system,” said Mr. Nikos Babalis, Chief Network Officer, WIND Hellas. “Even today after many years of being a happy customer we are still impressed by the capability of MYCOM’s NIMS-PrOptima™ for example through our current Radio Access Network modernization program where it is proving very easy to manage the roll-out of new network equipment.”
MYCOM’s NIMS-PrOptima™ is a converged (Fixed/IP/Mobile) Service Assurance solution with out-of-the-box support for multiple technologies, domains and equipment vendors across access, backhaul, core and service networks. It processes large volumes of performance, configuration and services data in near real-time, has advanced correlation, analysis, reporting and visualization modules, and is highly flexible via automation, workflow and configuration capabilities.
Payam Taaghol, EMEA MD, at MYCOM commented “WIND Hellas has been a satisfied customer of MYCOM for many years and we are very happy that they agreed to be cited as a successful reference of our converged Fixed/IP/Mobile network performance management solution and part of their successful OSS Transformation project.”
