“We want to be known as a company that communicates well with our customers and potential customers,” a spokesman said. “Part of that in 2013 is coming up with social media channels. The old days of simply having a call center and buying advertising is over with. People expect more these days.” has set up social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. It has also launched a blog, he said.

“The goal here is communication,” he said. “People want to be able to interact with companies they do business with. Now if they have a question or concern, they can contact us through social media or our blog. We think that people will feel more comfortable coming to us in that way rather than having to call us up when they want an answer.”

The customer service staff at will monitor the comments left on social media and the blog, and be proactive about getting back in touch with customers, he said.

“We'll also use social media and our blogs to keep people up to date about what's going on at our company,” he said. “We think that if people know about new ways we are trying to help them, we can build a sense of teamwork between ourselves and our customers. That's the kind of company we want to be.”
