Lori’s work is inspired by the Dadist, Neo Dadist, and the Pop Art artists of the 1950’s and 1960’s all while thriving on the ability to experiment with different mediums and materials. Lori loves blurring the lines between materials: carbon, gunpowder or even photography can be used in order to create images that evoke and connect. Penland wants to create a body of work that relates to people’s lives and is egalitarian in its inception.
