Ryder Cup Heroes Attend Nailcote Hall's British Par 3 Championship for Its 80th Anniversary
Birmingham, UK (PRWEB UK) 15 August 2013 -- Tommy Fleetwood has won this year's British Par 3 Championship hosted at Nailcote Hall. The European tour star finished with a score of -4 and left with a cheque for £25,000 after two days of intense competition.
The annual four day tournament celebrated its 80th anniversary this year as the crowds enjoyed four days of entertaining competition and excellence at Nailcote Hall. This highly anticipated event welcomed professional golfers and celebrities alike, with the likes of Len Goodman and Jasper Carrott stepping up to the tee.
Record numbers of spectators came to watch the world's leading par 3 Championship as Nailcote Hall unveiled the Ryder Cup Captains, tournament host Tony Jacklin CBE, Ryder Cup Legend Sam Torrance OBE and Masters winner Ian Woosnam OBE.
Nailcote Hall also hosted three gala balls all in aid of Midlands charity: Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. The three evenings included entertainment from 'Groove Nation', the ‘Upbeat Beatles’, mind reader and illusionist Graham Jolley and a rather candid discussion from Jacklin, Torrance and Woosnam about their highly respected careers.
It was the win of 22-year-old Tommy Fleetwood that really drew in the crowds on the second day of competition. His bogey on the final hole saw him finish on -4, just ahead of Paul Broadhurst who was unable to get the birdie he needed to level the scores.
