National Association of Professional Women Names Laura Rounce, VP for Administration/Chief HR Officer, Illinois College of Optometry, a VIP Professional Woman of the Year

She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. Laura Rounce has been a human resource (HR) professional for 30 years. She began her career as a Corporate Personnel Supervisor at JMB Realty Corp. Ms. Rounce then moved on to the Dental Network of America Inc., where she held the role of Vice President, Human Resources & Organizational Development for five years. In 1995, Ms. Rounce joined the Illinois College of Optometry where she is Vice President for Administration and Chief Human Resources Officer.
In her role, Ms. Rounce uses her vast industry knowledge along with her expert skills in leadership, communication, succession planning, management, operations, conflict resolution, training and development, and innovative idea implementation. Her responsibilities are many, including overseeing all administrative aspects of the institution including facilities and security management and all employment, labor, and human relations activities for staff and faculty at the College as well as the Illinois Eye Institute.
As she looks toward the future, Ms. Rounce focuses on assuring cultural embeddedness within the college and the Illinois Eye Institute.
