National Association of Professional Women Inducts Heather Calvert, Asst. Principal, Building Leader Intern, Topeka Public Schools, Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) August 19, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Heather Calvert as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in education. Following her lifelong dream of becoming a Teacher, Heather Calvert has dedicated herself to the education field. At Topeka Public Schools, she fills the roles of both Assistant Principal and Building Leader Intern, after having earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State College. Her many responsibilities include coaching teachers, presenting professional development and conducting staff evaluations. Ms. Calvert’s expertise in data driven
decision making has helped her to successfully lead and support both students and staff.
Ms. Calvert considers her biggest accomplishment in her career thus far to be becoming a published author with a full manuscript in The Reading Teacher. She finds the most rewarding part of her job to be watching students and staff grow and adapt, all while supporting them in achieving their goals.
As of now, Ms. Calvert is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Kansas State University, which she plans on completing in the near future. She also hopes to use her experience and passion for education to pursue employment at a district or university level.
