As the largest networking organization of professional women in the country, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“I now have five books published and my goal is at least nine books in my lifetime,” says Ms. Garro, Author, Artist, Speaker and President of Electric Envisions, Inc.
When she was a young girl, Ms. Garro was inspired by the many stories her mother told her and wrote an autobiography when she was only 8. At 14, she wrote her first poem. Ms. Garro’s talent for storytelling was validated when she was a Freshman in high school. “Sister Angelita told me, ‘Barbara, God gave you the gift of writing. You can do whatever you like in life, but your gift from God is writing,’" says Ms. Garro.
That passion and talent for putting pen to paper never left her. A successful author, Ms. Garro's first published book was Grow Yourself a Life You'll Love. She is currently working on the fourth volume of her Jesus Series. She writes her books, which may be purchased at http://www.BarbaraGarro.com, “…to guide readers toward satisfying relationships with themselves, others and, most of all, God.” To further bring her message of people living the lives they will love living, Ms. Garro conducts workshops that focus on helping people grow in their relationships. “Literally thousands have participated in my workshops as I have been teaching since the 1970s,” she says. “Students greet me frequently and let me know how much my books, teaching, workshops have meant to them.”
Also an award-winning, published poet, Ms. Garro’s new poetry-art book titled, Meet Barbara Garro, will be published in 2015, and she is busy working on other books and poems. She is also the author of a syndicated business column, “Garro Talk.” A true Renaissance woman, Ms. Garro’s talents go beyond writing. She is an award-winning artist, having studied as a teen at the Philadelphia Art Museum with Morris Blackburn and later Tom Vincent, as well as a successful businesswoman and motivational speaker. Her latest goal is to host a Christian talk show in the near future.
