National Association of Professional Women Inducts Lisa H. Aofrate, Ed.D., Author, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 26, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Dr. Lisa H. Aofrate as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in education and entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Lisa into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
An educator for nearly 20 years, Lisa H. Aofrate has a Doctorate in Education from Walden University. With the recent publication of her book, The Adventures of Mavis, Dr. Aofrate can now add the title Author to her impressive list of credentials.
“I have been considering writing this book for well over a decade, to teach about green sea turtles in a delightful story for young children,” she said. Her purpose in writing the book, which includes water color illustrations and a ‘Resources for Curious Minds’ page, is to bring attention to and raise awareness about this endangered species. “I plan on researching and writing more of these books on endangered species,” Dr. Aofrate adds.
In addition to her writing talent, Dr. Aofrate uses her collaborating skills in working with the illustrator and overseeing the production of her book. “Basically, I bring together the business of accounting, education, ecology, science, writing, editing and publishing toward a finished product that hopefully makes a difference in young lives as well as the species regarded in the book,” she said.
“The long, involved process of having a book published, and marketing the product, can be challenging,” said Dr. Aofrate, “but ultimately, very gratifying.” “The most rewarding part of being an author is viewing the final product as imagined, to know that the illustrator and others are happy with the final product, and to know many people support not only the product, but me in my endeavors,” she said.
Dr. Aofrate’s long-term goals include improving her marketing efforts, writing books on other endangered species, and continuing to work with the ecological nonprofit group Ocean Blue Project (OBP), whose mission is to clean water. Dr. Aofrate will be coordinating the OBP clean water elementary school presentations for educating children on the importance of a clean, healthy, sustainable environment.
