National Association of Professional Women Inducts Schaneick Thomas, CEO/Founder of ManyBabyies NYC, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) May 31, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Schaneick Thomas as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Schaneick into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
Schaneick Thomas is the parent of twin boys who were diagnosed with Autism and speech and language delay. As a mother trying to obtain the best services she could for her sons, she was frustrated by the complicated process of searching for information and resources available to her boys. These obstacles motivated Ms. Thomas to do something to help not only her own family, but other children and families who faced the same issues.
In 2015, Ms. Thomas established ManyBabies NYC. As CEO and Founder, she has made it her mission to “provide a peer-to-peer resource to families who struggle to understand their children’s diagnosis,” and has assembled a panel of experts, including attorneys, authors, doctors and therapists. Focusing on three core values: embrace, empower and engage, ManyBabies NYC helps parents understand and manage their child’s diagnosis, supports them as they navigate the special needs education process and encourages them to become advocates for their children’s learning and social development.
Ms. Thomas has a Master’s in Curriculum Instruction from the University of Phoenix. She earned Certification from the Peter Rights Law Conference and is currently pursuing a second Master’s in Special Education at Purdue University. She is also the Founder of Push Me Tutors, an after-school tutoring program and has forged a partnership with the NYC Thrive initiative, which conducts professional development sessions with teachers and parents.
