National Association of Professional Women Inducts Karen Musarra, Chief Executive Officer, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle

She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. Living in Milan, Italy, a global fashion capital, Karen Musarra become infatuated with the beauty industry. “I got inspired by the vibrant environment at Piazza il Duomo and surroundings. There were models everywhere, big screens showing the runways, and there were makeup stands promoting different cosmetic lines from Kiko Milano to Estee Lauder,” Ms. Musarra recalled.
Today, Ms. Musarra is the CEO of Victoria Park Italy, Inc., dba Victoria Park Academy, a professional make-up academy in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. “When I came to the U.S., my partner Renzo Composto, Founder and Owner of beauty product company Enzo Milano, gave me the nal input to open the Academy,” she said. “It is our mission to offer the highest-quality education and cutting-edge techniques to elevate the professional craft.”
In her role, Ms. Musarra uses her extensive industry knowledge as well as her skills in management, problem solving and leadership. “My key responsibilities include designing and implementing business plans and strategies ensuring their alignment with short- and long-term objectives; managing finance and budgets; ensuring adequate resources for the company’s activities; organizing and coordinating operations to ensure maximum productivity; maintaining relationships with suppliers; gathering, analyzing, and interpreting external and company data; and assessing overall company performance,” she said.
As she looks toward the future, Ms. Musarra is looking forward to growing her business and offering students even more opportunities. “I would like my students to have an international experience, for instance, to participate in the backstage in a fashion show in Milan,” she said. “Therefore, I am looking for strategic partnerships in order to accomplish this idea.”
