National Association of Professional Women Inducts Kirsten Miracle VanderJagt, CEO at Yuck Bed Bugs, Inc., Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) June 02, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Kirsten Miracle VanderJagt as a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. With more than 700,000 members and over 200 local chapters, the National Association of Professional Women is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women.
“I’m pleased to honor Kirsten with this prestigious award,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “She used her expertise to build a successful business enterprise.”
The idea for opening her own business started when Ms. Miracle VanderJagt found a few bed bugs in her son’s bed. “I was put off with the initial pest professional, toxins and price. I later came across research by UC Irvine that proved that bean leaves catch bed bugs. Further, the studies of bed bug detection dogs were of interest,” said Ms. Miracle VanderJagt.
With recent findings by Penn State revealing bed bugs can transmit an acute deadly cardiac illness known as Chagas disease, Ms. Miracle VanderJagt became determined to work with the government and commercial and residential industries to find a solution.
“How is it that 80% of people don’t know what bed bugs look like and that one-in-five families have — or have had — bed bugs; some people threaten suicide due to lack of sleep; pest professionals erroneously use pest resistant pesticides; people leave infested furniture next to the neighbor’s house; public health officials are giving up; and no one is sounding the alarm or providing a fresh solution? There are far too many gaps in the process,” she said.
After many hours of research and development, Ms. Miracle VanderJagt has secured two patents pending: one in organic farming for the bean leaf traps and the second for her proprietary bed bug cleaning method. She has also trained with the nation’s law enforcement to obtain her first bed bug sniffing K9. A self-described “strategist by birth, auditor by trade and medical student by degree,” she established Yuck Bed Bugs, Inc., to “help those whom feel helpless.”
In addition to providing customers with K9 detection, organic leaf treatments and an all-natural cleaning method, Yuck Bed Bugs, Inc., offers exceptional bed bug cleaning services, award-winning bedding and luggage covers, support groups with a mental help hotline, public awareness and training for hotel housekeeping, property managers and pest professionals.
In 2015, Yuck Bed Bugs, Inc., plans to launch a national media campaign to raise awareness about bed bug prevention, detection and treatment. “We are looking to staff women and military veterans with K9 experience and also individuals with greenhouse farming education. We are in the final stages of inking deals with Pestmaster Services®, UrbanMaidGreen NYC and K&K Property Solutions NYC,” she said.
