“I’m pleased to recognize Barbara with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her perseverance, work ethic and leadership qualities are an inspiration to all women.”
Determined to succeed, Barbara Geiger was looking for a company where she could learn the business from the ground up and advance in her career. In 1992, after some searching, she discovered Parasec, a small company with much growth opportunity. She started as a Full Charge Bookkeeper and today, she is Vice President of the company.
Ms. Geiger has been in her position for seven years at Parasec and is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations, and human resource (HR) / personnel management. She provides leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, HR / personnel accounting and budgeting efforts of the company. Wearing many hats, Ms. Geiger knows the importance of staying organized and detail oriented in everything she does.
Both challenged and rewarded by employee development, Ms. Geiger is supportive of all members of her staff, promoting internal growth and career success. “It is extremely rewarding when I see their successes and know that I had a part in it,” she said. “In addition, to see the success of the company as a whole as we have grown and being a part of that equation has been an amazing experience. It is exactly what I hoped to be a part of when joining the company almost 25 years ago.”
