National Association of Professional Women Announces Rosemarie Kaupp, Author of The Amberella Tales, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 28, 2014 -- NAPW honors Rosemarie Kaupp as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Kaupp is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in children’s literaure. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“It was a bad time in my life. I lost my husband and my son. My dog Amber was the one constant in my life,” says Ms. Kaupp, Author of The Amberella Tales, a book series for kids aged five to nine.
Two of Ms. Kaupp’s books have already been published and one soon will be. All focus on a dog inspired by Amber, Ms. Kaupp's own beloved corgi/pit bull mix who helped her get through very difficult times. A school nurse for many years, Ms. Kaupp mostly worked with inner city, high risk adolescents, and still works as a substitute school nurse. She uses her experience with personal loss, as well as her perspective of being a nurse and working with students, in her writing. Ms. Kaupp also maintains a blog for bereaved parents. “I started it in March 2013 and it’s going very well. I have a lot of interested readers from all over the country and the world,” she says.
The Amberella books are upbeat, says Ms. Kaupp. One is dedicated to her husband and the other to her son. Many of the characters are based on real-life dogs, pets of friends and relatives. “I also incorporate education into my stories. Three main characters are French poodles, so I include a lot of French phrases, a vocabulary list and pronunciation key in the books,” she says. So far, the books have garnered excellent reviews. Her second book, Amberella and Double Double Trouble, was recently published and she is working on a third in the early chapter series. Ms. Kaupp also hopes to soon begin writing a series of picture books based on Amberella's puppies.
NAPW’s mission is to provide an exclusive, highly advanced networking forum to professional women where they can aspire, connect and achieve. Through innovative resources, unique tools and progressive benefits, members interact, exchange ideas, advance their knowledge and empower each other.
