The Adventures of Spike & Jeremiah touches on the power of imagination in children.

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Magdalena (Maggie) Thomas as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

“I’m pleased to welcome Maggie into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”

While working toward a degree in Early Childhood Education and immersed in the world of young children, Magdalena (Maggie) Thomas was inspired by her love of her own sons, Matthew and Jeremiah, and her two unusual pets, Spike, a bearded dragon, and Buddy, a chameleon to pursue a new career path. Realizing there were few available books for children that focused on heartwarming, loving relationships with reptiles, Ms. Thomas decided to write one of her own.

The Adventures of Spike & Jeremiah: Spike the Bearded Dragon is Ms. Thomas’ first children’s book. It is available for purchase on a number of online book-selling sites, including Amazon.com and theadventuresofspikeandjeremiah.com. “The Adventures of Spike & Jeremiah touches on the power of imagination in children,” it says on Amazon.com. “This book highlights the relationship between a young boy and his reptile as they discover the wonders of the world by incorporating art, friendship, and wonder.”

Since its recent release, Ms. Thomas has been busy with book signings and other events. She is looking forward to hosting story times at local schools and libraries, as well as writing more books for children to enjoy.
