National Association of Professional Women Inducts Jina Clay, Estimator (Sales)/Detailer at Whitacre Engineering, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) March 28, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Jina Clay as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. “I got started in construction after being hurt in a factory setting,” said Ms. Clay. This event motivated her to make the decision to go to school to get her degree in Civil Engineering, which ultimately led to a career in construction. Ms. Clay has an A.A.S. in Civil Engineering (Architecture & Construction Management) from Stark State College of Technology; an A.A.S. in Civil Engineering (Construction Management) from Stark State College of Technology and a B.S. in Applied Management from Franklin University.
For the past two years, Ms. Clay has been an Estimator (Sales)/Detailer at Whitacre Engineering, where she has worked in various positions since 2006. In her current role, she specializes in rebar for bridge work, both repair and replacement. “Rebar is reinforcing in the concrete for the bridge structure,” explained Ms. Clay.
Working in a male-dominated field such as construction has had its challenges, but through hard work and determination, Ms. Clay has risen above any obstacles put in her way. Her professional reputation is stellar. “I have proven to my contractors that I know what I am doing and can provide them with the required materials and expertise needed to do a job successfully,” she said.
As for the future, Ms. Clay looks forward to continuing to learn new skills and gain increased responsibilities. “I hope to become better at what I do and be able to retire comfortably when I reach retirement age,” she added.
