The National Association of Professional Women(NAPW) honors Cristina Otero as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating local chapters.
“It gives me great pleasure to present Cristina with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “She used her expertise to build a successful business enterprise.”
While her deep-seated passion for mathematics inspired Ms. Otero to initially pursue a career in chemical engineering, she realized that after two years in the industry that she much preferred working with people rather than machines.
“I decided to change direction and took a role in the commercial world, where I spent over 16 years in both marketing and sales for industrial products. Nine of those years were at GE and the rest at Owens Corning, both multinationals and leaders in their markets,” said Ms. Otero.
After a rich and varied experience living and working abroad at multinational companies in this capacity, Ms. Otero was provided with a comprehensive understanding of just what challenges companies face today, most of which are related to people.
In June 2014, Ms. Otero became a trained and certified Coach and Team Coach by Lider-HazGo as well as a member of ICF and a Lego® Serious Play® Facilitator. “I get inspiration from a lot of people, but it was my interest in continuing to grow my personal development that made me start in this industry,” said Ms. Otero.
Today, as the Founder of her own company NIKEYI Coaching, Ms. Otero combines her experience in large multinational companies with her well-developed coaching skills to quickly assess the issues teams face. She then creates workshops to work on those challenges and effectively improve team performance.
In the wake of her recent move to the US, Ms. Otero’s immediate goals include growing her contacts, networking and referrals from scratch and building NIKEYI Coaching to become a recognized name in the industry.
