Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 04, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Yolanda Revels as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in community projects. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 775,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“It gives me great pleasure to present Yolanda with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her work is inspiring and invaluable at a time of changing demographics within the US.”
Beginning her community outreach career at the Mathis Community Center in Detroit, MI, Yolanda Revels worked her way up to the title of Project Director. She became inspired by “the large diversity of people who needed help, and [who] were very appreciative to know someone cared.” Her initial work consisted of providing food and clothing to those in need, among other things. Her position duties grew to include collaboration with multiple organizations on information outreach to the greater community.
As Project Director, Ms. Revels attends area events in the regionally recognized Judge Mathis Mobile Community Service Van. She also hosts a traveling information booth at area businesses and offices. With her colleagues, she distributes resource information on community services that are available to residents. In addition, Ms. Revels and her colleagues utilize their efforts to dispense up to 200 prepared meal bags.
Ms. Revels prides herself on her communication skills, as well as “oral and written data input.” “I strive for goal-oriented collaborations and idea sharing,” she said. “I also hope to spread awareness about assistance, education, training and all alternate services.”
In addition to her work as Project Director, Ms. Revels operates her own commercial cleaning business, established Heavenly Consultant Services in 2010 and is a Notary Public for the State of Michigan. She has high hopes for the future as she intends to pursue a Master’s degree in Psychology.
