National Association of Professional Women Announces Debby Farr, President and Owner of Mercedes Boot Co., Inc., a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 28, 2014 -- NAPW honors Debby Farr as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Farr is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in retail. As the largest networking organization of professional women in the country, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“In Texas, boots are not a fashion accessory, they are a way of life!” says Ms. Farr, President and Owner of Mercedes Boot Co. Inc., a company that offers customers made-to-measure custom boots of the highest quality. A great deal of pride goes into every custom fitting, design and build, which is why they guarantee the fit, quality of leather and the construction of the boots.
Since 1989, Ms. Farr has been in the business of making custom boots. She grew up riding horses; first her father's registered Quarter Horses as a young child, then competing in rodeos while in high school and college and ultimately, becoming a trick rider for the Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show produced by Montie Montana, Jr. She is proud to offer her clients custom, made-to-measure boots that are durable and comfortable with unique styling and beautiful, custom design work. Only the finest leathers and raw materials are used.
Ms. Farr also has a strong background in business and has enjoyed successful careers in banking and real estate, as well as talent in graphic and fine arts. Her experience in these areas helped to hone her excellent business, design and customer service skills, all of which she uses as President and Owner of Mercedes Boot Co. Ms. Farr is also hoping to expand her product line and soon offer a line of custom-designed handbags.
Although the hours can be long, Ms. Farr loves what she does and says the rewards and blessings outweigh how hard she works. Her customers’ satisfaction, whether it is a famous cowboy or celebrity or “real people,” is her priority. “We have the gentleman who lost a leg, so now we make the boots to fit his prosthesis and the young teenage girl who lost her sight and chose her leather by the feel and the texture, then hugs your neck when she pulls them on for the first time,” says Ms. Farr. “Every boot has a story and the Lord has blessed us over and over.”
