National Association of Professional Women Announces Susan M. Kohlberg, Co-Owner of Kohlfab, Inc., a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- NAPW honors Susan M. Kohlberg as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. As the largest networking organization of professional women in the country, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“I’m going to miss doing taxes. It will feel funny for me not to go into the office after all these years, but I decided to go ahead and retire,” says Ms. Kohlberg.
For more than 21 years, Ms. Kohlberg worked as a tax professional at H&R Block, “the world’s largest tax services provider, having prepared more than 650 million tax returns since 1955.” In her role as Senior Tax Advisor 5, she managed all aspects of business accounting, helping clients with everything from tax returns to tax refunds to payroll taxes.
Although retired from H&R Block, Ms. Kohlberg will not be idle. She will be busy running Kohlfab, Inc., a company she owns with her husband, who turned a hobby into a full-time business upon his retirement from the military. “We manufacture custom plastic fabrication. My husband made me a beautiful trunk and he really enjoyed making it so when he retired after 20 years, he needed something else to do,” she said. The company manufactures custom POP (point of purchase) displays, cases for museums, architectural pieces and more. Ms. Kohlberg manages the day-to-day operations, running the office, coordinating jobs and, of course, handling the taxes.
In addition to her work, Ms. Kohlberg is looking forward to spending some of her down time with her extended family. “We have 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren,” she says. “I plan to spend a lot of time with them.”
