National Association of Professional Women Announces Amy E. Kepler, Owner / Director of Coulee Region Adult Day Center, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 23, 2014 -- NAPW honors Amy E. Kepler as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Kepler is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“My brother has Down’s syndrome and I have always been passionate about working with the developmentally disabled,” says Ms. Kepler, Owner and Director of Coulee Region Adult Day Center.
When she began first working in the field, Ms. Kepler too often came across places where patients were not treated ethically. It was her passion for ensuring individuals like her brother are treated with compassion and respect that inspired her to pursue opening an adult day center of her own. In 2011, she did just that by establishing Coulee Region Adult Day Center, where adults with developmental disabilities and their families, as well as the elderly, could find the help and resources they needed.
Coulee Region Adult Day Care now has two locations in Wisconsin: Onalaska and Sparta. At both centers, Ms. Kepler leads a team of caring, skilled professionals who provide quality care in an environment that is warm and welcoming. Members of both centers benefit from an array of special services and also enjoy socialization and fun activities such as arts and crafts, cooking and baking, and outings in the community.
“We also offer overnight respite, which gives caregivers a break, and we have two group homes, as well,” says Ms. Kepler. She hopes to soon be able to expand the services of Coulee Region Adult Day Care and reach even more people in need in the community. Ms. Kepler has a Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix.
Awards & Accomplishments: National Adult Day Care Services, Wisconsin Assisted Living Association, Onalaska Chamber of Commerce, La Crosse Chamber of Commerce, and Women's Alliance of La Crosse; Named Employer of the Year, December 2013, chosen through the Family and Children's Unit
