National Association of Professional Women Inducts Brandy Emmons-Powell, Director of Quality Development at Didlake, Inc., Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 08, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Brandy Emmons-Powell as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in health services. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

Ms. Emmons-Powell initially began her journey in the field of health services due to the flexible schedule it afforded her while in college. “Once I began working with people with disabilities, I realized it was rewarding and fulfilling work beyond a paycheck,” said Ms. Emmons-Powell.
Today, Ms. Emmons-Powell is the Director of Quality Development at Didlake, Inc., a nonprofit organization providing a wide range of valuable resources to people with disabilities in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC. This includes job training that prepares individuals to enter the workforce and award-winning business solutions providing trainees with job placement
opportunities.
In her role, Ms. Emmons-Powell is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of quality assurance and quality control initiatives for the organization’s contracts. To date, she has effectively ensured that each contract requirement is met primarily around quality control, reporting, inspection, auditing, sustainability and training. Currently, the quality assurance program is implemented on 14 Federal contracts. Of all her noted achievements, Ms. Emmons-Powell is most proud of the contribution her work has on the lives of others to be able to experience greater independence and choice in their lives.
“I have worked hard to be part of Didlake’s mission ‘to create opportunities that enrich the lives of people with disabilities.’ Personally, my biggest accomplishment is my participation in improving and implementing processes that help people retain employment through a quality control program that is tied directly to improving the work environment,” she said.
