National Association of Professional Women Inducts Melanie Twomey, Director of Annual Giving and Alumni at McLean School, Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 22, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Melanie Twomey as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in education. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

As a resourceful and self-motivated professional, Melanie Twomey has been able to expand the parameters of her job description to keep pace with the McLean School’ s exponential growth. In 2011, the Alumni Association of McLean School was established. The group brings together, organizes, represents and serves the alumni community. According to the school’s website, “the association is based around three main principles: giving back to McLean School, professional networking and social connections.”
As Director of Annual Giving and Alumni, Ms. Twomey is responsible for planning and running major events at the McLean School. She also coordinates the planning and programming for the Annual Giving Campaign. By being a part of McLean School, she supports bright students and learning in individual styles. In 2010, Ms. Twomey founded the Advocacy Workshop, which informs and educates parents with children with mild to moderate learning differences.
McLean School is an independent, co-educational, K-12 day school. It serves the Washington, DC metropolitan area and is located in Potomac, MD. For 60 years, the school has been helping students realize their potential. It provides a comprehensive college preparatory program in small classrooms with an individualized program enhancement and differentiated instruction.
