NAPW honors Dr. Beth Polito, Superintendent of Woodside School District, as a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Polito is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in education. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and over 200 Local Chapters.

“I chose my career after working at a camp in Los Angeles for children who had been removed from their homes due to abuse,” said Dr. Beth Polito.

Superintendent of the Woodside School District in California since 2014, Dr. Polito provides leadership in all areas of instruction, including curriculum, assessment, strategic planning, fiscal management and board governance.

Dr. Polito’s biggest accomplishment, thus far, has been the implementation of Woodside’s current strategic plan. Her leadership helped establish a world language program, a district-wide design thinking, social and emotional learning program, and restructured the school’s administrative team to better support the K-5 and middle school programs.

Some of Dr. Polito’s previous positions and accomplishments include Program Quality Review Consultant at Fischer Middle School in Los Gatos, CA, California Distinguished Schools Validation Team Leader, Adjunct Faculty at National University, Principal at Redwood Middle School and Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services.

Awards & Accomplishments: Doctor of Education, University of San Francisco; involved with Association of California School Administration and American Association of School Administrators (AASA); sits on California State Superintendent's Council
