National Association of Professional Women Inducts Lynn MacDonald, Owner/Lead Investigator Mannon and Associates, LLC, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) May 10, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Lynn MacDonald as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Lynn into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
During her more than 20-year career in the medical field, Lynn MacDonald saw much abuse directed at the elderly. When she reported the abuse, it often lead to her getting fired. She recalled one of her patients, a woman named Anna who was in her 90s and dying. “Not once did I see anyone go in and make her comfortable. Not once did anyone wet her mouth with a sponge or try to moisten her dried, cracked lips,” Ms. MacDonald recalled. She eventually left the field but she could not leave behind images of people such as Anna.
“So I decided to approach the abuse from a different angle,” Ms. MacDonald said. “I went to school, took the tests and jumped through the many hoops to become an Oklahoma licensed private investigator. My main focus was to be involved in investigations of elder abuse and neglect.”
Currently, Ms. MacDonald’s firm, Mannon and Associates, LLC, is the only Oklahoma private investigative firm that focuses on these types of cases. In her role as Owner and Lead Investigator, she investigates abuse and provides proof that can be held up in the court of law, all while remaining “confidential, professional, ethical and discreet.” Ms. MacDonald also investigates civil matters, missing persons, process service and in-house corporate matters.
Along with her background in the medical field, Ms. MacDonald’s ability to blend in and “be a chameleon when investigating and during surveillance” are all skills that allow her to do her job effectively. She finds it rewarding when she is able to confirm abuse and, most importantly, get it stopped and the abusers punished. Most challenging, she said “is investigating and finding out the depths of the abuse.”
In addition to her work at Mannon and Associates, Ms. MacDonald is currently working on her first book. “I’m also donating my time to go into each facility to conduct my own investigations,” she said. “My goal is to have a full report made public so people can be completely informed before placing a loved one.”
