National Association of Professional Women Inducts Kate Livingstone, Lean Engineering Manager at Peoples Services Inc., Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 08, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Kate Livingstone as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Kate into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “She is a great example of how education and passion can lead to new pathways to success.”
Shortly after obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Ms. Livingstone joined Cornerstone Brands, Inc., a direct-to-consumer retail distributor based in West Chester, OH. There, she was introduced to the retail supply chain and operation management, igniting her passion to learn more about the complex and exciting world of global and supply chain management.
Ms. Livingstone has since become certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. In 2010, she took on the challenging role of Lean Engineering Manager at Peoples Services, Inc., a third-party logistics company. In her role, she employs Lean Six Sigma methodology to improve process operations and exceed business objectives.
“I love helping operations overcome obstacles preventing them from reaching their goals,” said Ms. Livingstone. “People often believe Lean Six Sigma is only about statistics, but it’s more than math. Pulling information from cross-functional resources to root out a potential solution is exciting.”
Ms. Livingstone is an active member of APICS and the IWLA sustainability council. She is currently undergoing the vigorous coursework required to receive her Master of Business Administration at Franklin University. She plans to continue her education and in 2016, begin working on her doctorate in Global and Supply Chain Management.
