NAPW honors Beate Damm, Vice President, Texas Area Manager, PG at URS Corporation, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in management. After receiving a geology degree in 1989, Beate Damm accepted the position as Area Manager at URS Corporation, an international provider of engineering, construction and technical services. Twenty-five years later she took on the role of Group ChemPharm Business Line Leader, a title that has given her direct responsibility for permitting and consulting support, including air, water and RCRA. Her skills and areas of expertise include business development, operations, marketing and sales. The majority of her work is related to remediation and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S).

She also has strong technical skills that have allowed allow her to mentor and help an admiring staff, who consider her knowledge of the chempharm industry to be unparalleled, .
Ms. Damm has been responsible for maintaining a zero Osha recordable rate for 21 years in her unit while working high risk jobs such as confined space entries and tank clean outs without incident. “My priority is making sure all my employees get home safe every day,” says Ms. Damm. She considers that to be one of her greatest accomplishments.
