Delilah Richmond got her start within her industry of choice after earning a temp job. After taking a tour of the Cobham Mission Systems facility, she found herself impressed with the company and was happy to accept a position.
“I have been in my present position for three years and eight months,” Ms. Richmond said. “I communicate with the head office in the United Kingdom, maintain import and export records, perform a variety of administrative support activities and identify areas of relative concern for various project and program execution—and then make recommendations to the Program Manager as appropriate.” Ms. Richmond’s hard work has paid off, as her department recently won the Sir Alan Cobham Silver Award for Customer Satisfaction.
Ms. Richmond utilizes a number of skills to perform her job duties to the best of her ability—including clerical, oral and written communication-related skills. She completed both degrees following 26 years with the United States Air Force. “I have been the second in my family to choose the military, and the first in my family to obtain a college degree,” Ms. Richmond said.
In looking toward the future, Ms. Richmond hopes to complete a variety of online-based courses to gain greater credentials. She also hopes to work in an international capacity.
