National Association of Professional Women Inducts Teresa L. Smalley, Microbiology Manufacturing Manager at Neogen, Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle

Ms. Smalley is a successful Microbiology Manufacturing Manager at Neogen, an international food and animal safety company based in Lansing, MI. Founded in 1982, the company provides test kits and relevant products to detect dangerous substances in
food.
“In my role as Microbiology Manufacturing Manager, I specialize in leadership for production, manufacturing, problem solving, administration and working with quality control,” said Ms. Smalley.
Ms. Smalley is responsible for the overall management and outcomes of activities related to packaging, labeling, mechanical and other manufacturing processes. She successfully troubleshoots product line quality problems, monitors equipment and oversees maintenance while ensuring her staff is up-to-date in training requirements. Ms. Smalley also effectively executes the challenging task of developing and implementing annual departmental budgets, staffing, capital and operating expenses.
Outside of her career at Neogen, Ms. Smalley participates in many activities that enrich her civic connections to the community. She is devoted to neighborhood outreach through her local church, Northridge Church Plymouth, and an avid supporter of charitable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and local soup kitchens.
