NAPW honors Michele D. Angel, Director of Business Development at Global Geophysical Services, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Angel is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
Michele Angel considers it a privilege to be working in the oil industry, which she believes is "the best industry on Earth." Although over time, Ms. Angel’s jobs and focus have changed since working as a sample catcher on a rig in Mobile Bay Drilling Norplet, her love of the industry never diminished.
After completing her Master degree in Geophysics, Ms. Angel was employed with Marathon Oil as a deep water exploration geophysicist. She worked pipeline services during the downturn of the 1990s while finishing a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. When the oil field recovered, Ms. Angel went into technical sales for Jason Geosystems a software services company, (now Furgo).
Presently, at Global Geophysical Services where she is Director of Business Development, Ms. Angel is developing a new service using Global's proprietary TFI technology (Tomographic Fracture Imaging), which will allow operators to determine the appropriate well spacing, required frac stages and completion for multiple reservoirs very early in the field development stage.
