National Association of Professional Women Announces Kristen Basel, Events Coordinator at Basel’s All-Star Gymnastics & Cheer, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 25, 2014 -- NAPW honors Kristen Basel as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Basel is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in event management. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“I got started in the gymnastics industry because of my parents,” says Ms. Basel. “They own a gymnastics school and thus I grew up at the gym.”
As she got older, Ms. Basel worked as a coach at the gym, Basel’s All-Star Gymnastics & Cheer, which is located in Spring, Texas. She eventually went off to college where she received a Bachelor of Science in Sports, Art and Entertainment. After graduating, Ms. Basel moved back home and started working at the gym again, this time in an administrative capacity in the front office.
Ms. Basel is now responsible for managing the competitions the gym hosts, ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day of the event. She is also the key point person for the parents whose children are on the gym’s three competitive teams (artistic men's and women’s gymnastics and trampoline and tumbling). “I love being able to host the competitions and special events for our business because that is my passion. I enjoy the process of juggling different operations simultaneously and getting to see the end game at the event,” says Ms. Basel.
With all of her responsibilities, Ms. Basel uses the business skills she has honed in communications, social media and task management. She looks forward to expanding her role at Basel’s All-Star Gymnastics & Cheer. “In the future I see myself taking on more responsibility at the gym for the day-to-day operations and perhaps even bidding to host larger statewide competitions.”
NAPW’s mission is to provide an exclusive networking forum to successful professional women where they can aspire, connect and achieve. Through innovative resources, tools and benefits, members interact, exchange ideas, advance their knowledge and empower each other.
