National Association of Professional Women Announces Winifred K. Lucht, Patient Financial Services Manager at Marshfield Clinic, a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year

NAPW honors Winifred K. Lucht as a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Lucht is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in healthcare. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with nearly 700,000 members and over 200 Local Chapters.

“Today’s managers need to have leadership skills and management skills,” says Ms. Lucht. “Management is the skill of dealing with things such as budgets. Leadership means being able to deal with diverse people.”

As Patient Financial Services Manager at Marshfield Clinic, one of the largest private, multispecialty group practices in the US, Ms. Lucht combines her abilities as a manager and leader to expertly oversee a team of professionals from two separate, independent billing departments. Working collaboratively with her staff, she seamlessly manages the day-to-day operations, expertly handling all issues, including technical, billing, budgeting, customer service and staffing.

Throughout her career, Ms. Lucht, a former U.S. Air Force veteran, has honed her leadership skills. She knows the importance of effectively communicating with her staff, listening to their needs and showing an interest in their lives. “Communication is an invaluable skill a leader needs. In my opinion, this skill is essential,” explains Ms. Lucht. “Over the years, I have found this is the most important ‘tool’ in my toolbox.” Committed to growing professionally, Ms. Lucht continually searches for ways to expand her knowledge, and mentor and motivate her staff.
