The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Joan Lopes as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business With more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating local chapters, NAPW is the nation's leading networking organization exclusively for professional women.

“I’m pleased to welcome Joan Lopes into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones.

As Chief Quality Management for VA Greater Los Angeles, Ms. Lopes has succeeded is providing exceptional quality of service throughout her tenor working in the Greater Los Angeles healthcare system.

Ms. Lopes has a Master's degree in Nursing and Risk Management from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is involved in healthcare reform and the study of Ebola and infectious disease and continues to fight for personal and staff safety. Ms. Lopes plans to retire in the upcoming year and plans to go into consulting.
