National Association of Professional Women Inducts Holly Downey, Account Manager at Horizon Lines, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle

Holly Downey selected for her outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Holly Downey as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in the transportation industry. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

“I'm pleased to recognize Holly with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her perseverance, work ethic and leadership qualities are an inspiration to all women.”

For the past three years, Holly Downey has been Account Manager at Horizon Lines, a leading domestic ocean shipping and integrated logistics company. She is a representative of the Domestic Carrier Sales division with a focus on Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Micronesia. She is also responsible for making direct sale calls to potential customers and determining the successful execution of sales to meet and exceed organizational goals. Ms. Downey’s expertise is branding, marketing and business development, and her strength at building and maintaining client relationships ensures her success when it comes to closing deals.

In 2008, Ms. Downey joined the Transportation Club of Seattle and the Transportation Club of Tacoma. Through these professional organizations, she met several mentors who became an integral part of her decision to immerse herself in the transportation industry, and she was also encouraged to pursue personal development and give back to local communities. Ms. Downey’s future goals include continuing to learn all she can about the industry and steadily grow in her career.
