National Association of Professional Women Announces Sarah Schiermeister, Clinical Manager Specialist at Gentiva Health Services, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year

Sarah E. Schiermeister, R. N., B.S.N., is recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of the Year for her outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession

Professionally, I have been in multiple fields of knowledge within the nursing profession and continue to learn something new every day.

NAPW honors Sarah E. Schiermeister, R.N., B.S.N., Clinical Manager Specialist, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Schiermeister is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in clinical care. As the largest networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.

Sarah Schiermeister has been a nurse for 33 years, working for some of the foremost names in healthcare. She has experience in surgical nursing, intensive care nursery nursing, insurance company review, psychiatric nursing, compliance and behavioral health. Nine years ago, Ms. Schiermeister joined Gentiva Health Services and found a great deal of satisfaction working in hospice services where she can engage with patients and families and help them when they need her the most. Gentiva is an industry leader that provides home health and hospice services to more than 350,000 patients from over 420 community locations nationwide.

Presently, Ms. Schiermeister's responsibilities include having in-depth knowledge of the Hospice Conditions of Participation that are regulated by the Federal Government (Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services of CMS). Her exceptional nursing and administrative skills have given her the ability to keep any number of programs running under emergency situations including training of new staff, auditing files and regulatory compliance concerns, from Nebraska to Rhode Island.
