National Association of Professional Women Announces Melonie K. Myers, Human Resource Director at Rosewood Services, Inc., as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 28, 2014 -- NAPW honors Melonie K. Myers as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Mrs. Myers is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in human resources. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 local chapters.
“Human Resources has always interested me. I was doing similar work for an attorney who represented three schools,” says Mrs. Myers.
Since 2006, Mrs. Myers has been the Human Resource Director at Rosewood Services, Inc. located in Great Bend, Kansas, and serving the Central Kansas community. The agency provides services for children and adults with disabilities and celebrates “the unique abilities, successes and choices of people with developmental disabilities.”
As Human Resource Director, Mrs. Myers plays a significant role in the day-to-day operations of the facility. Among her many responsibilities are managing advertising for open positions, managing employee benefits, unemployment claims, workers comp and more. She is also very involved in employee training, including CPR, and finds this aspect of her job extremely rewarding. The challenging part of her job, says Mrs. Myers, is staying abreast of the many recent changes in healthcare. She accomplishes this by attending industry meetings and carefully reviewing related emails and other correspondence. Mrs. Myers, who has a B.S. in Education from Fort Hays State University, hopes to one day obtain her degree in Human Resource Management.
