National Association of Professional Women Inducts Ellen Streets, President of Pioneer Insurance Agency, Inc., Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 15, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Ellen Streets as a 2015-2016 inductee into the NAPW VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in insurance. With more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters, NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women.
“I’m pleased to recognize Ellen with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her perseverance, work ethic and leadership qualities are an inspiration to all women.”
In 1971, newly wed and new to the neighborhood, Ellen Streets was in dire need of a job. After word from her landlord, she applied and was hired by a local insurance agent. At the time, Ms. Streets was recently honorably discharged from the Women’s Army Corp. During the interview, a negative statement was made concerning women in the army, which naturally made her angry. From that day on, Ms. Streets was determined to proving that man wrong by succeeding in the real estate field. She can proudly say that Pioneer Insurance Agency has now been in business for over 30 years.
Ms. Streets spends most of her time managing administrative tasks and training employees to sell and service their products. However, she still enjoys selling every chance she gets. Detail oriented and an effective communicator, Ms. Streets advises her clients what the best plan is for them, at the lowest price. Although the position comes with challenges, the most rewarding is when Ms. Streets can truthfully say “Don’t worry, you are covered.”
In three years, Ms. Streets is planning to retire. She hopes to help with training or to fill in for people on vacation after retirement. Currently, she has been mentoring an excellent agent who is a good friend of hers to eventually become President of the two offices. By training him herself, she knows the agency will be secure long after she retires.
