NAPW Inducts Kaitlyn E. Krna, Personal Lines Underwriter at Genesee Patrons Cooperative Insurance, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Kaitlyn E. Krna as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in insurance. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

“I’m pleased to welcome Kaitlyn into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”

As a Personal Lines Underwriter at Genesee Patrons Cooperative Insurance, a cooperative (mutual) insurance company located in Batavia, NY, Kaitlyn Krna plays a key role in determining who is eligible for insurance and who may be a risk to the insurance company.

“I review individual applications for insurance in order to evaluate the degree of risk involved and determine acceptance of applications,” she explained. “I also specify applicable endorsements and apply rating to ensure safe profitable distribution of risks.” Ms. Krna communicates directly with agents, answering their questions about coverage, reinstatement, cancellation and more.

Before taking on her current role, Ms. Krna was a Claims Representative at Genesee Patrons, working closely with Claims Managers. She got her start in the insurance industry by first working as a Data Entry Support Personnel at the company. Ms. Krna also worked as a Bank Teller.

A member of the Rochester Young Professionals, Ms. Krna has a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Liberty University and is considering returning to school in the near future to obtain her M.B.A.
