National Association of Professional Women Inducts Dr. Karen Garby, Interventional Radiologist, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Karen Garby, M.D., as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in healthcare. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

Self-motivated and results driven to succeed, Dr. Karen Garby is a seasoned professional who has constantly set her goals to keep pace with her highest aspirations for personal excellence. Throughout her career, she has exhibited exemplary teamwork, expertise, integrity and dedication.

An Interventional Radiologist, Dr. Garby is the Director of Venous Intervention at Comprehensive Interventional Care, which is located in Mesa, AZ. Dr. Garby received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine and has 20 years of experience in the eld of interventional radiology.

“I was intrigued with learning and collaborating with all specialties of medicine and using high-level technology in radiology to perform minimally invasive surgeries,” Dr. Garby said when asked what inspired her to pursue a career in her field.

In her role at Comprehensive Interventional Care, she is responsible for the treatment of venous and lymphatic disease, uterine fibroid embolization and pain management. “This field is extremely rewarding since we are able to treat patients quickly and safely, with little downtime,” Dr. Garby said.

As she looks forward to obtaining even more experience and knowledge in new vascular procedures, Dr. Garby added, “The future is exciting with many new opportunities to expand my practice.”
