National Association of Professional Women Announces Ellen Kvam, Owner / Designer of Ellen Kvam Jewelry, a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 10, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Ellen Kvam as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinc-tion for leadership in jewelry design. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 775,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“It gives me great pleasure to present Ellen with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “I applaud her for using her expertise to build a successful business enterprise.”
Growing up on an island in Norway, Ellen Kvam developed a passion and appreciation for the beauty of color and light, particularly the magical and colorful Northern Lights that light up the nighttime sky of her hometown of Tromsø.
Inspired creatively, Ms. Kvam eventually purchased a kiln and started experimenting, burning both glass and porcelain and creating jewelry. “A necklace I had made on a hobby basis and given to a friend as a gift was discovered by a store manager in “Thune,” a posh chain in Norway,” she said. “The jewelry line was an immediate success and I expanded to more countries in Scandinavia from there.” In 2015, she set sail to arrive in the United States, ready to take on the American market.
In 2004, Ms. Kvam founded Ellen Kvam Jewelry, which offers beautiful, handmade pendants, necklaces, earrings, rings, etc. Using traditional Italian craftsmanship, her jewelry features vibrant colors and natural gems set in unique, modern settings. In addition to being the Designer, Ms. Kvam also oversees the compa-ny’s day-to-day operations, ensures customer satisfaction and manages her staff.
“My key responsibility is to take care of the company’s properties, both the designs and the finances, in the best way possible,” she said. My job is to have cost-efficient routines. I am responsible for making all agreements on behalf of the company and to make sure they are followed through. There should be no doubt what is expected of me and what is expected of individuals working for me. I am responsible for setting a tone of high service, kindness and respect at the workplace.”
A self-proclaimed “go-getter”—one of her future goals is to become a licensee holder for the National Football League (NFL) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and supply them and other lead-ing organizations with her “Star Stone Medallions”—Ms. Kvam is continuously motivated by challenges to succeed both professionally and personally. “My biggest accomplishment has been to establish myself in a highly competitive business and to have raised two wonderful and happy children at the same time,” she said.
