National Association of Professional Women Inducts Jane L. Garwood, Owner of Automated Business Equipment Service, into Its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle

She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. Ms. Garwood took over Automated Business Equipment Service from her father on September 1, 2012. As sole proprietor of the family-owned company her father founded more than 30 years ago, she manages every aspect of the business, including sales, marketing and finance. Automated Business Equipment Service provides other companies, as well as individuals, with the secure shredding of documents.
“I also service and sell machines such as paper folders, folder sealers and paper shredders,” said Ms. Garwood. “There are over 40 machines that are serviced and sold by my company.” As a second-generation owner, she proudly carries on the family tradition of offering quality services at reasonable prices. As a result of her expertise when it comes to managing the business, Automated Business Equipment Service continues to enjoy a solid reputation among its many loyal customers and the ongoing stream of new customers they regularly refer.
A disabled veteran who served in the US Army from January 1979 to January 1985, Ms. Garwood is also an amateur radio operator who recently earned the extra class license, the highest level of achievement for an operator. The proud mother of an Eagle Scout, she has been honored with the Silver Beaver Award in recognition of her tireless efforts and volunteer work with the Boy Scouts of America.
