National Association of Professional Women Announces Lindsey Nicole Miller, M.B.A. Candidate at Rollins College, a 2014 Professional Women of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 -- NAPW honors Lindsey Miller as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for her student leadership. As the largest networking organization of professional women in the country, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“I am part of the Early Advantage M.B.A. program at Rollins College - Crummer Graduate School of Business. This is a fast-paced program with the students taking 17.5 hours their first semester and 14 the following,” explains Ms. Miller, who is expected to graduate May 2016. “We are required to have a summer internship and allowed to work our second year.”
Ms. Miller received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Louisiana State University (LSU). Throughout her college career, she has taken on roles at a number of companies that have provided her with solid business experience, helped hone her marketing and communication skills and enhanced her leadership roles. “While at LSU, I was very involved. I gained many of my skills from the leadership positions I held. I was President of the freshman college, an elected position,” she said. “I was also Communications and Hospitality Coordinator of S.T.R.I.P.E.S., a four-day, three-night retreat that prepares first-year students for their transition to LSU.”
It was during her participation in the Disney College Program that, after speaking with her mentor, Ms. Miller made the decision to pursue her Master of Business Administration. She is confident it is an achievement that will "put me one step closer to achieving something I believed to be just a dream.”
That dream is to pursue a career in marketing on the Golf Channel, and ultimately become an on-air personality for that channel. Although it is a competitive field, Ms. Miller is well on her way to building a strong resume and an even stronger skill set that will establish her as a key player in the industry and help her achieve her ultimate goal.
NAPW’s mission is to provide an exclusive networking forum to successful women executives, professionals and entrepreneurs where they can aspire, connect and achieve. Through innovative resources, tools and benefits, professional women interact, exchange ideas, advance their knowledge and empower each other.
