National Association of Professional Women Inducts Edie Diaz, Principal Business Systems Analyst, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, into its 2015-16 Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) May 05, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Edie Diaz as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. NAPW is the nation's leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating local chapters.
"I’m pleased to welcome Edie into this exceptional group of professional women," said NAPW President Star Jones." Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community."
Ms. Diaz has spent over 25 years as a Registered Nurse and 15 within the IT field. She brings a long history of diversified experience to her role at the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she is currently revolutionizing electronic software systems used by employees and patients. “My skills and areas of expertise include software documentation, systems analysis, IT project management and mentoring of newer business analysts,” she said.
After starting with the company as an IT Project Manager in 1999, Ms. Diaz’s gift of mastering IT systems and leading teams solidified her as Principle Business Systems Analyst in 2010. During her tenure, she has built four electronic health records and multiple patient safety intranet websites used for collecting patient-specific metrics to facilitate standards of care. She is in the process of redesigning the user interface and transitioning the current client / server patient electronic health records into a web-based application. It will display historical information seamlessly within the new electronic health record vendor application, emulating the display of the data to appear as part of the vendor framework.
Ms. Diaz looks forward to developing the parameters for the integration of the new health record system with other sytems and databases to support MD Anderson Cancer Center’s ultimate mission of "making cancer history." LinkedIn
