National Association of Professional Women Inducts LaKeisha Melton, Business Process Lead at Cameron International, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle

LaKeisha Melton selected for her outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors LaKeisha D. Melton as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

“I’m pleased to present LaKeisha with this prestigious honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her perseverance, work ethic and leadership qualities are an inspiration to all women.”

Ms. Melton, business process lead at Cameron International, is the project execution systems transform liaison between the IT department and the business divisions for risk management, document control, planning and scheduling, cost control and project management systems. The global company is a leading provider of flow equipment products, systems and services to oil, gas and process industries.

In her role, Ms. Melton is responsible for ongoing quality assurance of all business and application processes for new systems, current system enhancements and system upgrades. She is a key decision-maker when it comes to selecting new systems for the global company. “I also develop business requirements documentation, business process documentation, business analysis, testing documentation, training, etc., throughout the project life cycle,” said Ms. Melton.

In addition to her position at Cameron International, Ms. Melton uses her skills as an entrepreneur to share her knowledge and mentor others. She is the owner of Elevating Strengths, where she combines her technology skills with her creative abilities to provide clients with arts, media and technology custom products and services.

"I would love to continue to expand my business and build an enrichment center for people of all ages to explore their talents, knowledge and desires in these areas,” said Ms. Melton, who is also a Mary Kay consultant. “Life experiences are meant to be shared so that you can motivate, encourage and assist others.”
