National Association of Professional Women Inducts Charmaine Weyer, B.S., Metallurgist / Lab Supervisor of Barrick Gold Corp., Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) December 15, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Charmaine Weyer as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in mining. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting 850,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Charmaine into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “She and her company are making great strides in the mining field.”
Charmaine Weyer started her career with Barrick Gold Corporation as an Assayer / Chemist. She worked her way to a position as a Specialist, then to a Metallurgist prior to earning the title of Lab Supervisor.
“I am a senior gold producer focused on growing free cash flow through disciplined capital allocation and operational excellence,” Ms. Weyer said.
Ms. Weyer’s job responsibilities include supervision of lab technicians, monitoring and evaluating metallurgical performance, executing testing programs to improve quality control within the lab, completing invoices and payments for customers and data analysis. She also worked on a May 2013 project titled “Secondary Gold Recovery & Reclamation of Historic Mine Properties,” which involved “cooperation with the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, Bureau of Land Management and private owners.” Project participants worked to find new gold at area dumps from older mining projects in order to reclaim the sites. Sixteen sites have been reclaimed to date. Ms. Weyer’s work on the project also required her to process ore at Barrick’s Golden Sunlight Mine in Whitehall, MT.
As a result of her hard work and dedication to ore processing at Golden Sunlight Mine, Ms. Weyer was awarded Barrick’s Corporate Social Responsibility Award in January 2015. She was touted as the heart and soul of the off-site ore purchase program.
Awards & Accomplishments: Bachelor of Science, Montana Tech of the University of Montana, Chemistry with a concentration in Geochemistry; Barrick’s Corporate Social Responsibility Award
