Ms. Ndong is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. “I was born in a famous mining region in Nigeria,” said Rose Ndong, who was raised in the mineral rich country where copious amounts of tinstone, columbite, bitumen, lead-zinc, gold and marble are mined. It appears that her close proximity to nature would have had a strong influence on her choice of career. Ms. Ndong's expertise and work in mineral exploration and hydrogeology exploration helped provide rural development in many areas of Nigeria. She has extensive knowledge of hydrogeology that helped assist in the process of providing water infrastructures for many areas of the country.
Ms. Ndong has been the Deputy Director (DD) with the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency (NGSA) since 2010 and served as the Acting Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of The Nigerian Mining Corporation (NMC) and its subsidiaries since 2005. Her key responsibility as a DD in the NGSA has been to lead and supervise the junior geologists as they carry out economic mineral investigation and exploitation in the field. Ms. Ndong's key responsibility in the NMC and its subsidiary companies has been coordinating and managing the corporate entity and its subsidiaries to enable it to achieve the aims and objectives for which it was set up.
