National Association of Professional Women Announces Sonia Theresa Thornton, Chief Executive Officer / Founder, GodSpecializes, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 -- NAPW honors Sonia Theresa Thornton, B.S., M.Ed., CAGS, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Thornton is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in ministry and social work. Sonia Theresa Thornton is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder at GodSpecializes, a ministry. She also works as a Case Manager for the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Thornton has a Master of Education from Howard University in Educational Technology. During her successful tenure in social work, she has had a number of key supervisory roles and has traveled throughout the United States. Ms. Thornton is a spokesperson for the Commission of Public Health and the Commission of Mental Health in Washington and has also held the position of Community Relations Specialist.
In her ministry work, Ms. Thornton works tirelessly with the police department as a faith leader, specializing in helping the devastated families of the victims of homicide. She knows the difficult issues these families have to deal with and does all she can to ease their pain. Ms. Thornton hopes to soon be able to expand upon her ministry services. “My goal is to open a center for the bereaved, to help them deal with grief and to have a ministry/church,” she says.
