National Association of Professional Women Inducts Liz Conron, Owner / Trainer, Core Connection Pilates and Fitness, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 06, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Liz Conron as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in health and fitness. With more than 775,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters, NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women.
“I’m pleased to recognize Liz with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her perseverance, work ethic and leadership qualities are an inspiration to all women.”
Fitness and athletics have a special place in Liz Conron’s heart. Since early childhood, she has played soccer and tennis, and enjoyed running and general fitness activities. As an adult, she gravitated toward fitness classes at her local gym such as aerobics, spinning and yoga, where she embraced the unique combination of balance through strength and grace. After an accident almost ten years ago, doctors told Ms. Conron she may never have full range of motion again in one of her wrists. Working slowly and steadily, through therapeutic massages and cold laser therapy, she gained her strength and eventually asked her doctor if she could participate in Pilates classes.
“I was not going to lose strength or function,” she said. “I was a mom with two young children who depended on me. Anything was worth a try.”
Pilates, an exercise created to rehab soldiers in WWI, made a huge difference for Ms. Conron. Not only did she make a full recovery, but she found her passion. Eight months after her accident, she became a Professional Fitness Instructor. She received certifications in Pilates and yoga, as well as her AFFA certification for general fitness instruction. Four years ago, she opened Core Connection Pilates and Fitness, located in Williamsville, NY. Primarily working with adults, she hopes to expand her work to encompass children and young athletes. She is motivated to help others without a pause with heartfelt determination to get them back on track. Ms. Conron encourages everyone to come to her gym and guarantees a positive experience.
“Every day I go to work, if I can even call it that, and I do what I love!” she said. “It’s a great day when someone walks into the studio and leaves with a smile of gratitude and a healthy, mobile body.”
