The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Lynne Carrithers, J.D., as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in legal and government affairs. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

Accounting for nearly 25 percent of California’s production, Aera Energy LLC is one of the largest oil and gas producers. As Senior Vice President / General Counsel, Lynne Carrithers manages the legal / government affairs and corporate secretary functions. As a member of the Aera Leadership Team, Ms. Carrithers also helps develop and implement strategic business decisions for the company.
Ms. Carrithers and the rest of the employees at Aera Energy represent almost 100 years of industry leadership and commitment to California. Because of their excellent safety and environmental performance, the company continues to grow and is well-positioned for the future.
Ms. Carrithers earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn State and her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University. In addition to her role at Aera, she is an active member of the community and currently serves on the boards of the Kern County Bar Association, the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Kern County and Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance. She is also a member of the Women’s Leadership Council of the United Way of Kern County, an organization that focuses on creating community-based solutions to improve the education, income and health of every resident.
