National Association of Professional Women Inducts Dr. Janice H. Loeffler, M.D., Owner / Pediatrician, Janice H. Loeffler, MD PC, Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) June 30, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Dr. Janice H. Loeffler as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in healthcare. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating local chapters.
“I’m pleased to present Janice with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in healthcare are valuable assets to her patients and community.”
Since 1984, Dr. Loeffler has owned a private practice as a pediatrician. She moved to Georgia from Canada in 1982 in order to have hands on experience as a doctor. Now, running a business as a sole-owner with six employees, Dr. Loeffler provides daily a
“medical home” to all of her patients.
“I wanted to be a teacher or nurse, as was expected of me as a girl in the late 60s, but then I spoke to my neighbors who were doctors and I said, ‘If they can do it, then so can I,’ which led me to be a Pediatrician,” said Dr. Loeffler.
As a pediatrician in Valdosta, GA, Dr. Loeffler feels it is her responsibility to provide the best care possible and know what the best referral services are for her patients and where they are located. In the 1990s, Dr. Loeffler became interested in developing more services for those suffering from child abuse, and helped establish a children’s advocacy center, where she has been medical consultant at since it began.
“The challenge today has been the constant changes in the Medicaid and insurance systems and their formularies where we cannot treat children like they need to be treated,” said Dr. Loeffler, “It has affected my work and the life of my patients.” The reward is in the gratitude of a patient and their family for taking great care of the medical needs of their children.
