National Association of Professional Women Announces Miledys Gonzalez, Registered Nurse at UMD of New Jersey, a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year

Ms. Gonzalez is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in nursing. “Nursing was truly a calling for me,” says Miledys Gonzalez. She wanted to be a nurse as far back as she can remember, and enjoys the status her profession provides as well as the many different categories of nursing available to aspiring nurses. “A good nurse can find work in numerous specialties within a hospital, nursing home, school or even in a private setting,” explains Ms. Gonzalez, who chose labor and delivery nursing as her life’s work.
After 13 years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse, Ms. Gonzalez still never tires of the many responsibilities of her position, which includes observing, monitoring and communicating in a compassionate and professional manner and reporting the status and condition of each patient under her care. Ms. Gonzalez is also an expert in parenting classes and holds ongoing childbirth classes at UMD of New Jersey.
Besides Ms. Gonzalez’ exceptional expertise in obstetric nursing, she also assists doctors in cesarean deliveries and other infant delivery complications. For her commitment to achieving success according to her personal standards of excellence, and for her outstanding accomplishments in enriching the field of nursing with her diversified proficiencies, Ms. Gonzalez is being honored as a leader and role model for her profession.
